    ERIN O’ KEEFE

    « Je suis photographe et architecte, mon travail se nourrit de ces deux disciplines. Ma formation en architecture est la base sous-jacente de ma pratique artistique, elle incarne ma première confrontation soutenue avec les questions et problématiques avec lesquelles je lutte dans mes photographies. Les questions que je pose au sein de mon travail gravitent autour de la nature de notre perception de l’espace, et les outils que j’utilise sont inscrits dans ce langage créatif, abstrait et formel, que j’ai développé en tant qu’architecte.

    En tant que photographe, je m’intéresse aux couches de distorsion et de malentendu introduites par l’objectif de l’appareil alors qu’il traduit en deux dimensions des formes et espaces qui sont tridimensionnels. Ce désalignement inévitable et souvent fructueux est la problématique au cœur de mon travail. »

    Erin O’Keefe est une artiste qui travaille entre New York et New Brunswick (Canada). Elle est issue d’un bachelor en arts plastiques à l’Université Cornell et d’un master en architecture de l’université Columbia.
