Claire Nicolet’s works oscillate between abstraction and figuration, exploring landscapes where nature and architecture intertwine. Inspired by her wanderings and memories, she creates floating, fragmented spaces in which lush plant elements coexist with pared-down structures. Through a subtle play of forms and colors, she composes scenes that evoke the memory of places and their emotional resonance.
Born in 1988, Claire Nicolet lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the École Estienne in 2012 and the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2015, where she studied in Jean-Michel Alberola’s studio. Initially trained in printmaking, she later turned to painting. In 2023, she took part in a residency aboard the scientific schooner Tara as part of the Tara Europa expedition—an experience that enriched her work on the perception and transformation of landscapes.
